In loving memory of Paul Robert Huber, born on September 10, 1930 and peacefully passed away on July 15,2023. He was born in Cincinnati to Clifford and Alma(Boley) Huber and his stepmom Hazel. He attended Wilbur Wright H.S until he joined the military in 1947 at 17 years old and headed to Japan. He lived a life full of dedication and service, and proudly serving for 21 years, including 2 tours in the Korean War. Paul received many medals in the Army during combat. One was the Distinguished Flying Cross. The Flying Cross is the third highest medal awarded in the armed services. It is for heroism. Dad was recognized for being a true American hero. His plane and pilot was shot down on one of his many missions in combat. He was in the back cockpit on the Recon mission. He was not the pilot, but on that day, with his plane streaming smoke he flew and landed his plane and his injured pilot safely behind enemy territory. Paul ended his military career teaching ROTC at Toledo University. He retired as Master Sergeant. After the military he became an entrepreneur and opened up Oak creek Donut Shop and Paul's Donut Shops and had locations in Bellbrook, Kettering and Franklin.
Paul's life was marked by both joy and sorrow. He married his childhood sweetheart, Joann Frederick and together they faced the loss of their 1st daughter, Paula Marie. Despite this tragedy, they raised 7 children until Joann’s passing in 1994. 2 years later, Paul found love again marrying Carol Jenkins. They enjoyed their winters in the south traveling in their motorhome and spent summers at Lake White in Waverly, Ohio enjoying boating with their kids and grandchildren, until Carols passing in 2013.
Hard work and cherished family were at the core of Paul's values. He found happiness in traveling, living by the water and witnessing the growth of his extended family. Even as age brought its challenges, Paul’s smile and witty humor remained unwavering.
Paul will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Paula Marie, his brothers Clifford and Donald and both of his wives Joann and Carol. He is survived by his devoted & loving children; Steve Huber (Sherri), Jeff Huber, Paul Huber II, Jana Blue, Tari Quinlan(Brian), Mike Huber (Joan), Rona Dorsey (Steve); step children, Mike Jenkins, Kelly (Mark) Courtney, and Tom Jenkins.
