Paul J. Bright, age 96 of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton with family by his side on Wednesday, August 6, 2014. He was preceded in death by his caring wife of 54 years, Virgie Carnes Bright; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaynelle & Oscar Turner, Rebeca Bright, Daurine & James Edwards, Sarah & Carl Muncy Sr., Mary & Bill Blair, Priscilla Stamps; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill Bright & Diane Robinson, James & Ruth Bright, A.D. Bright Jr. and Edwin Bright.
Paul is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie & Lee Test of Bellbrook and Debbie & Jamie Fisher of Beavercreek, grandchildren Lindsay Fisher of Boulder, CO and Ryan Fisher of Beavercreek; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Brenda Bright of Beavercreek and George & Betty Bright of Monterey, TN; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Dorothy Rapp of Livingston, TN, Phina Bright and Morris Stamps both of Monterey, TN; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Paul was born December 7, 1917 in Monterey, TN, the oldest son of Anderson Dorsey Bright Sr. and Hallie Mae Walker Bright. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II. Paul retired from Dayton Tire & Rubber Co.—Firestone with 31 years of service and had served on the company’s Fire Brigade for many years. In earlier years Paul enjoyed fishing, boating, biking, swimming, and his CB radio known as “Night Owl.” More recent, he was excited to be a recipient of “Honor Flight Dayton” to Washington D.C. for Veterans to see their Memorials. Paul loved his family.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432 with Pastor Bob Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, August 11 from 6:00–8:00 PM at the funeral home.
