VENDT, Patricia Ann, of Kettering, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Patricia, known as Patty, was born September 26, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Roslyn and LuAnne Vendt. Patty was a graduate of Wright State University. Patty is survived by her brother David (Mary Hart) of Lebanon, Ohio, her sister Carol of Oconto, Wisconsin and nieces Sarah (Nathan) of New Orleans and Mary Asher (Brice) of Virginia Beach. Patty cherished her many special friends. Patty retired from Wright State University after 32 years as Email and Collaboration Software Administrator in the Computing Center. She was a female pioneer in the local computer and tech community. Patty was very involved in the Dayton local community. Her volunteer interests include area wine listings, Miami Valley Institute of Food and Spirits farm-to-table children’s educational program, Camp Emmanuel and 2nd Street Market Pottery. Her involvement in the local tech community included the co-chair of the OARtech Security Committee and a scribe for the Dayton Chapter of InfraGard. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25th at Tobias Funeral Home on 5471 Far Hills Ave in Dayton, with the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jay Shailer officiating. A Celebration of Life Reception will follow at Jay’s Seafood, 225 E 6th St, Dayton.
