McWhirter, Patricia A., age 76, of Beavercreek passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, at Miami Valley Hospital. She was born in Dayton, OH on May 25, 1938, the daughter of George M. and Ruth (Slayback) Sweat, who preceded her in death. Patricia was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Buck Bowers and her 2nd husband, Donald W. McWhirter. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Thompson and 2 brothers-in-law, Tim Hall and Charles Schoenfeld. Patricia is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Theresa (Bowers) and David Larson and their daughters, Katherine and husband, Harry Hicks, III and Elizabeth Larson; a step-son, Donald McWhirter and his daughter, Rachel; a step-daughter, Jennifer Black; a step-daughter, Victoria Hollenbeck and her children, Eric, Lisa and Ashley; 10 sisters and brothers, Richard (Judy) Sweat, Karen Hall, Mary Schoenfeld, Ruth (Steven) Rameriz, Pamela (Ralph) Nott, Tim (Donna) Sweat, Steven (Sandy) Sweat, John (Sheryl) Sweat, Chris (Larry) Homan, Peggy (Stephen) Stringer: a brother-in-law, William Thompson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Patricia was a graduate of Beavercreek High School, Class of 1956 and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after 35 years of distinquished service. She was a member of The Church of the Ascension, where she was active with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. Patricia was a member of the Beavercreek Senior Center, The Red Hat Ladies and was a volunteer with Hospice of Dayton. Prayers will be said at 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. from The Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, with Father Chris Worland, celebrant. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society in care of Ascension Catholic Church.
