Born in Dayton May 15, 1930 to William and Ruby (Blair) Allen. She was a 1948 graduate of Patterson Coop, where she was a typing scholar and concert pianist Married for 67 years to her devoted husband Melvin and raised three children. Worked as an executive secretary for attorneys Gilvary and Staley (5 yrs) and Huffy Manufacturing (21 yrs.)
She was compared to Lucille Ball for her beautiful red hair and fun and zany personality. She was active in bowling, sorority, shrine ladies, and clowning.
Mel and Pat owned many boats and motor homes and loved traveling. They spent many years traveling to Las Vegas and their 2nd home in Florida. They are well known for their Friday night SWS nights.
Proceeded in death by her parents Wm. And Ruby Allen, 4 brothers (Phillip, Jerry, David and “Lige”) and sister-in-law Juanita. Survived by her husband Melvin, 3 children Geraldine (Annette Berger) Pamela Moyer (Fran) and Melvin VanOver Jr. (Shirley), 2 grandsons Kenneth Moyer (Monti) and Kevin Moyer, 2 great-grandchildren Morgan Moyer and Kyle Moyer, 2 sister-in-laws Lura Allen and Henrietta Allen.
