She was the eldest daughter of Donald C. and Elda McCoppin Fitzsimmons. She was born on August 3, 1955 at Clinton Memorial Hospital, Wilmington, Ohio.
Pam and Keith were married June 18, 1988 and celebrated 34 years of marriage.
Shortly after she was born the family moved to the Kettering-Beavercreek area because of a change in employment for her father.
She attended Beavercreek Schools for the entirety of her elementary and secondary education. She graduated from Beavercreek in 1973. Knowing what she wanted to be, she immediately became a nurses’ aide at St. Elizabeth Hospital and enrolled at Sinclair Community College in the Nursing program. She graduated from the Nursing Program in 1977, passed her boards on first try, and became a registered nurse in the ICU unit at St. Elizabeth’s. After 10 years working in ICU she decided she needed a change and relocated to Miami Valley Hospital working second shift in the surgical recovery unit. After 10 years at Miami Valley she again changed jobs and became a supervising nurse in the home nursing care division of Montgomery County Public Health where she remained until retiring in 2017.
Pam is survived by her husband, Keith Phillips, her father, Donald C. Fitzsimmons, and, her sisters and spouses; Karen and John Walling, Denise and Duane Williams, Melissa and Chris Hergenrather and Jennifer Bradley. Also surviving her are a stepson Brian Phillips and a brother- in- law John and Norma Phillips, and three sisters–in-law; Sue Napier and Robert Beam, Sandra Thomas and Charlotte and James Lynch.
She is preceded in death by her mother Elda Fitzsimmons, stepdaughter Krys Lambert, brothers-in-law Michael Bradley and Roger Thomas.
She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members.
Pam was a people person and spent her lifetime trying to help other people. She was deeply loved by her husband and family and leaves a void in their lives that can never be filled. Rest in Peace dear daughter, wife and sister.
