WELSH, Mary E., age 59 surrounded by her family and friends passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Dayton Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, Mary graduated from Holy Trinity School and St. Joseph Commercial High School. She received her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Dayton and then her Juris Doctorate at UD Law School. Mary was very passionate about the law; she worked for over twenty years as a legal secretary and a paralegal. She spent another fifteen years in the City of Dayton Law Department as an Assistant City Prosecutor and a Prosecuting Attorney of the Housing Division. Mary was a member of the Dayton, the Ohio State, and the Federal Bar Associations. She was an active member of the Catholic Alumni Club, and was very devout in her religion and kept a strong faith. Mary loved bowling, traveling, tennis, softball, and had a passion for classical music. Her parents William Edward and Agnes Hittle Welsh, and a brother Joseph Welsh precede her in death. Mary is survived by her twin sister Julie Welsh of Dayton, OH., brother Michael(Cynthia)Welsh of Greeley, CO., niece Jacqueline Welsh of Tucson, AZ., nephew Edward Welsh of Greeley, CO, and many dear friends. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Holy Angel’s Catholic Church 1322 Brown St. Dayton, OH 45409, with Fr. Dan Meyer celebrant. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made in Mary’s memory to the Hospice of Dayton, American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
