Mary Katherine Rhoades

RHOADES, Mary Kaye (Katherine) Thum, age 96, Centerville, OH, went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2016. She graduated from Fairiew High School, Dayton Ohio and Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing, Dayton, OH. Mary Kaye was Diabetic Supervisor at Miami Valley Hospital, a private duty nurse, and office nurse for Dr. John Welsh for 19 years. She was a child of God, a wife, a mother, grandma, Gigi and a friend to many. She was an avid bridge player, a world traveler, a gardener and a beautiful seamstress and a caregiver to her family. Mary Kaye was a 25 year member of Centerville Garden Club, loved Japanese Ikebana, and was a member of the Kettering and Suburban Senior Citizens (KSSC). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Walter H. Rhoades, parents Edwin J. Thum and Blanche Kemerer Thum, brother William Thum and sister Jane Thum Golder both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Mary Kaye is survived by her children Janet Rhoades Cleland (John) and Nancy Rhoades Oliver (Rudy) Grandchildren David Cleland (Kimberly) and Annie Perucki (Justin) Michele Erby, Matt Oliver (Wendy) and great grandchildren Madison, Lily, Isla, Connor, Kate, Miles and Dylan and dear friends Abby and Pat. The family will receive friends, from 1 pm, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Living Water Lutheran Church, 667 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Centerville, OH 45459, until time of the memorial service at 2 pm.
