On September 17th, 2016 the world lost a shining light. Our mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary Frances Adducchio, left this life after brightening it for those around her for 84 years. Her beloved husband Patsy, her parents Theodore and Dessie Bishop, daughter Terry Ankeny, daughter-in-law Janet Adducchio, and brother Daniel Bishop were all there to greet her with open arms as she arrived on the other side. She will be forever loved by her children who mourn her death-Mark and Bonnie Adducchio, David and Jeanie Adducchio, Lisa and Phil Bennett, Paul Adducchio and Anita Patton, and Christine Adducchio and Scott Spille-as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren in whom she took great pride. She also leaves behind her siblings-Patsy Molohan, Jim and Frances Bishop, Betty Mueller, Sarah and Gil Burson, Mark and Judy Bishop, Ellen and Fred Esposito and Mike Bishop-along with a host of extended family and good friends. After graduating from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1953, she selflessly dedicated her life to serving the needs of others in her career for over 40 years. During her retirement, she continued her commitment of giving back in her volunteer work for Catholic Social Services and St. Vincent’s Homeless Shelters. With the limitless empathy and compassion she carried in her heart, she helped anyone in need with great kindness, offering assistance with her gentle nature and warm smile. This world has truly been enriched by the life she lived. The memories she has left behind for those whose lives she touched will be treasured until the end of time.Mary's family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers at Dayton Physicians who saw her through the final challenges of her life. A special sense of appreciation is shared with Dr. Mark Romer, who, per her specific request, tried to keep her here on earth long enough witness the coming election (in which she took great interest) and its results. Alas, that was not meant to be. To know her was to love her. Never has there been another person with more true compassion and concern for others....and never has anyone ever faced adversity with such grace and dignity. We were among the most fortunate of people to have loved her and been loved by her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road with Father Satish Joseph, celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2016. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Catholic Social Services or St. Vincent Homeless Shelters. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
