Margaret E Jones

Margaret E. (Murphy) Cummings Jones, known as "Peggy", age 95 of Dayton, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Hospice of Miami County. She was the fifth of six children born to Matthew and Elizabeth (Webster) Murphy in Dayton, Ohio on May 11, 1923. She is preceded in death by husbands Raymond Cummings Sr. and Kenneth Jones, daughter Kathy Romba, and daughter-in-law Loretta Cook Cummings. She is survived by her two sons; Raymond Cummings Jr. of Miamisburg, OH; Allen Cummings of Fairfield, OH, and a daughter, Margaret (Daryl) Boyd, of Piqua, OH with whom she resided for the past three years. She leaves behind eight deeply loved grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Peggy particularly enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family. She was an avid card player and scrabble devotee who was know for her quick wit and keen sense of humor. Peggy was always kind to everyone and never met a stranger; she loved to laugh and be with others. Her granddaughter, Lesia, thought of her grandmother as her angel. Graveside services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 at Willowview Cemetery, 2500 Neff Rd. Dayton, OH 45414.
