Spencer, Marcia Ann (Donahoe, Gray) of Washington Township, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 16th at her home at 81 years of age. Marcia was born on November 29th, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to Alva “Al” Gray & Edith (Gray) (Cahill) Krewson. She survived her loving and always protective big brother Lt. Col. Ernest “Ernie” Gray. Marcia was a proud graduate of Stivers High School where she had a very close-knit group of friends, “The Club”, for whom she had great love and with whom she had continued to meet monthly for over sixty years. She was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church and was heavily involved in the DivorceCare group where she made many fast friends. She was always grateful for the support they and the CUMC 'family' provided through good times and bad.
Marcia was survived by her four children who she loved with all her heart:
Kevin Donahoe of Washington Twp., Diane (Donahoe) LeBlanc (Paul Sweetman) of Cincinnati, Susan Lehman (Greg) of Kettering, and Craig Spencer (Nancy) of Madeira.
She was blessed with six grandchildren as well whose pictures filled an entire shelf unit:
Erin Donahoe (19), Luke (14), Shane (12), and Jesse (8) Spencer, and Elise (16) and Zach (14) Lehman.
Marcia is also survived by her beloved sister-in-law, Shelva Gray (Max Marshall) , and her two wonderful daughters, Christine Boylan (Mike) and Cathy Gott (“Rocky”), who will forever miss their “Aunt Mar Mar”.
But no-one will miss her more than her constant companion, Suri, the best dog she could have ever asked for, whose unconditional love bolstered her daily.
All services to be held on Saturday, November 23rd, 2019 at Christ United Methodist Church, 3440 Shroyer Road, Kettering, Ohio, 45429; 937-293-3151. Visitation at 9:30am to be followed by the formal service at 11:00. Burial after funeral at Woodland Cemetery & Arboretum, 118 Woodland Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45409.
The family then invites everyone back to the church for a light lunch and an opportunity to further share remembrances and celebrate Marcia’s life.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers should be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.act.alz.org in loving memory of Marcia’s mother Edith.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4 : 4-7
