EVANS, Lowell D., June 14, 2016. Lowell was born in Pyrmont, Ohio to Viola Stockslager and O. Grant Evans. He attended Dixie Schools and Miami University. Lowell was inducted into the United States Army in 1950 and worked on Gyroscopes in the early part of 1952 in Brooklyn, New York where he met Rose Mosca. After a long distance courtship they were married in 1953 and came to reside in Dayton; where Lowell was employed by Globe Motors TRW as a Project Engineer. He retired after 38 years of service. Their daughter Susan was born in 1956, and now resides in Virginia. Lowell enjoyed his work and traveling to many states even Canada and South Africa for business. He enjoyed gardening, reading, table tennis and cards. Lowell is survived by his wife Rose, their daughter Susan (David)Shields, granddaughters; Leah(Greg)King, Ariel(Tim)Bond, grandson Nate Shields, and four great-grandchildren, two nieces Gail Evans(Bob)Knieckel, and Kay Evans. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law T.Quentin and Helen Evans, one cousin Miriam Stockslager Hedges. Family to receive friends from 11:00AM to 1:00PM Thursday, June 23, 2016 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel. Burial to follow visitation at David’s Cemetery. The family extends thanks to St. Leonard’s and Hospice for all their care. And a special thank you to neighbor Steve Albers and friends Peggy Baldwin and Karen Pollitt for helping Rose get to visit with Lowell.
