Louis Doerner Jr. was born July 28th, 1952 to his mother Laura Belle and father Louis Sr. in Dayton, Ohio.
A union carpenter who specialized in commercial flooring, Louie was able to always provide for his family. As a true “Jack of all trades," there was not much he couldn't fix. He was very generous with his talents and time; always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and, at times, even total strangers. Louie definitely was not one to gather dust, he was always working on a project. Louie was very involved with his church and helping out with their events as well as general maintenance and upkeep of the church property.
He loved to camp and fish and made some wonderful memories with his family that way. He was very involved with his children and helped volunteer with scouts and tee-ball while his kids were growing up and active in those. Even though he worked a lot, he always made time for his family.
Louie was a giver. He never seeked to enrich only himself, rather, his goal was to always build up those he loved. He always gave of his time, money or talents for others and by doing this, he set an amazing Christ-like example to his children and grandchildren. To always do unto others the way that Christ performed his earthly ministry.
After a battle with cancer, Louie Doerner took his last breath the morning of April 8th, 2024, leaving this mortal world behind at Hospice of Dayton. That morning, his wife of 45 years lost her soul mate. That morning, his two sons lost their best friend and the only man who wanted with every fiber of his being for them both to become more successful than he was himself.
Louie was a loving husband, a wonderful and loving father and an amazing grandfather! Although we are all grateful he is no longer in pain and is on to glory in heaven, his monumental presence in the lives of those he loved will be missed greatly!
Louie Doerner is preceded in death by his mother Laura Belle Landsaw, father Louis Doerner Sr., his middle son Steven Doerner, brothers David and Joseph, sisters Teri and Skip.
