MARR, Lori (Loretta) Ruth O’Brien, of Centerville died peacefully Sunday morning at her residence. Like her previous 87 years, her life ended with dignity and grace. Lori was born January 2, 1926 in Pawtucket, RI to James and Sarah Hartley O’Brien. She was the 5th of six children and was a graduate of Pawtucket East High School. The most pivotal moment of her life occurred the night she met her future husband, George. George had just returned that day to Rhode Island after serving in the Pacific as a Marine in WWII. Their marriage on September 20, 1947 was the beginning of 66 beautiful years. Lori is survived by her husband George, sons Dennis (Linda) and Jeffrey (Karen Ensor) and daughter Cheryl Pottmeyer (Daniel). She was inordinately proud of her granddaughters Jamie (Dominic) Delsandro, Kristen (Jesse) Thomas and Jennifer Marr (Len Bell). Her two great-grandchildren, Izaak and Claire, brought her immeasurable joy. She was predeceased by brothers Jim, Cliff, and sister Doris, and is survived by sisters Freda Luther and Gladys Clark of Rhode Island and brother-in-law Robert Marr of Amherst, OH as well as a number of nieces and nephews. A special addition to her life was the inclusion of Karen Ensor’s family. For years, Lori was an avid bowler and golfer in the area. Among her achievements were Dayton City Golf Champion and Springfield City Golf Champion. Although always an enthusiastic bridge player, she especially enjoyed her last several years with her friends at Hithergreen and Champs. A caring cremation has already occurred and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45429. Extra special thanks to Hospice of Dayton and Karen Ensor for their loving care of Lori. In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to consider donations to The Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, Ohio 454520. Condolences may be made to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
