Meyer, Leona M. (Speck), age 99 of Centerville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, November 10th, 2016, at St. Leaonard’s under the care of Hospice of Dayton. She was born in St. Henry, Ohio on March 24th, 1917 to the late John and Elizabeth (Buehler) Speck. She is survived by 6 children, Barbara Cogliano of Centerville, OH, David (Mary) Meyer of Franklin, OH, Michael (Susan) Meyer of Sandusky, OH, Carolyn Meyer (Beverly Bruckman) of Kettering OH, Rick Meyer (Greg Larson) of Sarasota, FL. and Mary L. Meyer (Linda Koch) of Columbus Ohio. The grandchildren include Joseph Cogliano II, Christine Lynch, Michael Cogliano, Jennifer Smialek, Brad Meyer, Brian Meyer and Angela Berger. She is survived by 15 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. She is survived by a brother, Elmer Speck of Coldwater, OH, a sister-in-law, Leona Speck of West Milton, OH, a sister-in-law, Edie Speck of Fort Recovery, OH, brother-in-law Pete Kostoff of Centerville, OH, and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frank and Elizabeth Wagner of Arlington, TX. Leona is survived by her former husband, Richard A. Meyer of Centerville, OH. She was preceded in death by her favorite son-in-law Joseph Cogliano, and siblings –Ray (Delores) Speck, Clarence (Dorothy) Speck, Richard Speck, John Speck, Sally (Ferd) Eifert, Alvera Kostoff, Esther (Paul) Wourms and sister-in-law Margie Speck. Leona was formerly a member of St. Anthony Parish in Dayton and Incarnation Parish in Centerville. She enjoyed travel with the Leisure Club, playing cards and many other social activities at St. Leonard’s. She had a green thumb and beautiful flowers. Her pies and baked goods won the praises of her family!!
