Ken C. Carpenter, age 78, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019. Ken was born on March 17, 1940 to Don and Mable (Strauss) Carpenter in Springfield, Illinois. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Roberta (Bobbie) Carpenter, daughter Jenny (Tim) Kroft, son Kenny (Monika) Carpenter, and much loved grandchildren Katie Kroft, Alyson Kroft, Charlie Carpenter, and Tom Carpenter. Ken graduated from Miami University in 1962 in accounting and remained a loyal alumnus. He retired as a cost accountant from Shefield Measurement/Bendix Corporation. After retiring, Ken worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer for many years. Throughout his career, Ken served with the National Association of Accountants where he received the Division Leader Award and Member of the Year Award. Ken was a lifelong musician. He played and taught piano, organ, and trumpet. He enjoyed performing music and was a supporter of creative arts throughout the Dayton area. Visitation will be at Tobias of Beavercreek this Sunday, January 20th at 1:00 PM with a celebration of life immediately following at 2:30 PM.
