WILLIAMSON, Dr. Joseph C. “Joe”, age 95, of Kettering, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. Joe was born on February 8, 1922 near Centerville. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, of 56 years, and is survived by his second wife, Doris, of 10 years; his four daughters: Leslie Szumlic of Florida, Robin Ihara of Virginia, Christine Mesec of Texas, and Patricia Berg of Oakwood; his nephew Dr. Mark Hodson; his nine grandchildren; and his four great-grandchildren. Joe graduated from Washington Township High School in 1940, attended the University of Cincinnati, served his country instructing in the Chemical Warfare Service of the United States Army during World War II, and graduated from the Ohio State University, and its school of Dentistry. Joe was an active member of Rotary International, the Dayton Dental Society, and the Ohio State University Alumni Society. A beyond avid fan of Buckeye football, Joe managed to miss only 5 home games in a 60 year period. He continued to watch every televised game thereon (that he did not attend) with his grandchildren, whom he properly brought up to cheer on the Buckeyes for every Saturday, of every season. A most warm, and amiable, and lovable man that anyone could hope to meet, words cannot describe how fully his life was lived, nor to how greatly he will be missed. The family will receive friends from 12:00-12:30 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd, with a memorial service at 12:30 PM, Rev. Jim Riggs officiating. A graveside service for family will be held at 11:00 at Centerville Cemetery, Rev. Harvey B. Smith officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton on their website, www.hospiceofdayton.org . Condolences may be made at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
