My memories of Joe were that he was a man with a big smile and and a bigger laugh. He was allways very nice and friendly to me. Lots of memories at the Bierer house, Kraus house, and Edelweiss!!

Uncle Joe was a Great man who always greeted you with a huge smile. His laugh could shake the entire house. I am so glad we spent some time together a few weeks ago enjoying some German Beer. God Bless you and all of the family.

I will always remember playing with Uncle Joe's cane at family gatherings  and using it as a hockey stick. Even when my mom said not to ask, he would still let me use it. I remember coming home from Tennessee with my family and we surprised Aunt Lizzy and Uncle Joe. We only planned on staying for a half hour, but stayed for a few hours and laughed, talked and had a great time. I will remember when he showed me the Cadillac and how in shock I was. Uncle Joe, I will miss you. You are a great man and may you rest peacefully. All my love and prayers.

Uncle Joe was a great man. Some of the only memories of my childhood involved my uncle, he was always the first to join me and my brother for a game of soccer.    You will be greatly missed by our family but I know you will keep an eye on all of us.

I will never forget using Uncle Joe's cane as a hockey stick at Oma & Opa's house. I remember having our family come and surprise Aunt Lizzy & Uncle Joe one day on our way home from Tennessee, we were only going to be a half hour or so but stayed for quite awhile just talking, laughing, and having a good time. I will miss you Uncle Joe, you are a great man. May you rest peacefully, I will see you again some day.

We knew Mr. Kraus as "Uncle Joe" only through our son (Helms) and daughter-in-law (Karin Bitzer Gilley)of DeWitt,MI. Thery spoke so highly & affectionately of him that wee felt we knew him at least indirectly. We regret never meeting him, & we want to express our sincerest sympathy.

Uncle Joe always seemed ready to play a game of soccer with us when we were boys. His interest in soccer was contagious and influenced me. I never quite caught his interest in the Reds though. From my earliest memories, he was always someone I enjoyed being with ... enthusiastic and warm with a hearty laugh. We will miss him but will always value the memories.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
