Joseph Guth

Joseph “Joe” Charles Guth, age 86, of Dayton, passed away September 23, 2022 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 31, 1936, the son of the late Merle and Harriett (Strowbridge) Guth.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Guth; and sisters, Shirley Drake and Virginia Gallagher.

Joe is survived by his brother, Thomas Guth; son, Joseph M. Guth; grandchildren, Courtney, Kaylee, and Kyle; and several nieces and a nephew.

He served his country proudly in the Ordinance Squadron of the U.S. Army.

Joe had a strong work ethic, and retired from Chrysler after 34 years of employment.

In his free time, he enjoyed camping, visiting and eating out with family and friends.

He and his brother were wood craftsmen and made beautiful pieces of furniture.

His “best friend” was his loving, precious Jack Russell, Buddy, who was his loyal companion for 15 years.

Joe lived life with a good sense of humor, and was a great storyteller! He was dearly loved by his family members and friends, and will be missed by everyone.

A memorial service for Joe will be held Friday, September 30, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio.
