John J. Logel Jr., “Pete” age 76 of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at Heartland of Beavercreek. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna (Blatz) Logel, and a son, John J. Logel III. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Logel, and a son, Ken Logel and wife Gaylyn of Beavercreek. Two grandchildren also survive him: Kenny Logel Jr. and wife Stephanie of Xenia, and Jonna and husband Chris De La Cruz of FL. Four great grandchildren also survive him: Aiden Walker, Georgia Logel, Walker Logel and Demetrio De La Cruz, as do two sisters; Marilyn Coder and Karen Newman and two brothers; Larry Logel and Gary Logel, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pete was an automotive aficionado; he was a successful drag racer and enjoyed restoring and showing his 1938 Packard. He also enjoyed traveling in the RVs which he converted from old buses himself, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was retired from GM Inland in 1989 following 30 years of service. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 4-7 PM. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 10 AM Monday, December 7, 2015; Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. at 10:30 AM with Fr. Terry Schneider, Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
