KELLY, John J. Jr. (Major, USAF, Ret.), age 83 of Beavercreek, passed away on February 7, 2013. He was born in Cincinnati to the late John J. Sr. and Louella (Hetterman) Kelly. His son, Col. Paul M. Kelly also precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Rose Kelly; daughters Brita Kelly, of OR, Theresa Kelly of OH; sons, John (Debbie) Kelly, of MA, Pat (Peggy) Kelly of OH, Tony Kelly of RI; daughter in-law, Maria Kelly of VA; sister, Mary Koenig; 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. John graduated from; St. Xavier High School in 1948, Xavier University in 1952 and the University of Dayton. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 until his retirement in 1973 and then worked as a Placement Counselor at the University of Dayton from 1974 – 1989. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Luke’s choir, the WPAFB Golf Association and volunteered at WPAFB and the Beavercreek Seniors Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd. Fr Terry Schneider celebrant. Interment will follow in Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday.
