NYE, John E. “Jack” passed away quietly on September 4, 2011 after a brief illness at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on June 4, 1939 to William Sr. and Beulah Nye, deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brothers William Jr. and Burdette. Jack was a graduate of Belmont High School class of 1958; he served in the United States Army and was employed by the Dayton Power and Light Company as a surveyor for 53 years. He is survived by his high school sweetheart, friend and loving wife Sonja A.; sons Michael E. and Jeffery A., his wife Karen, a grandson Emmanuel Falker-Nye of Killian, TX; granddaughter Amanda Bryant and her husband Frank, great grandson Xavier, sister-in-law Nancy Fleckenstein and husband William. Others surviving are cousins from Tipp City, Phyllis Lawson and Judy Flora of Miami County. Jack also had several nieces and nephews Robin Willit and husband John, Timothy Nye and wife Marie and their children, Ryan and Lauren, Kelly Nye, Sara Fleckentein and her son Benjamin O’Neil and Amy Jacobs. Jack was a member of the Beavercreek Eagles Lodge and a founding member of the National Corvette Museum. Jack was a loving, father, grandpa and “ta-taw”. He never knew a stranger and will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched. The family will receive friends and family at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 8, 2011. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2011.
