John W. Durnbaugh, age 83, of Beavercreek, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Harold Durnbaugh, and his daughter, Beth, in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda (Dalhamer) Durnbaugh, and by three children: Mary (Ron) Wertz of Zionsville, IN, Linda (Jeff) Elmore of Beavercreek, and Robert (Marissa) Durnbaugh of Beavercreek. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Adam (fiance Carly), Robert, Matthew and Samantha Wertz, Michael, Nicholas and Jacob Elmore and Rowan and Eva Durnbaugh, his brother, Ken (Abby) Durnbaugh and sister, Joan (Bob) Timmons, and many caring nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his embraced daughter, Jackie Haren of NJ. John was a proud husband, father and grandfather. He was a bricklayer by trade but a farmer at heart and accomplished more than he had ever dreamed possible through hard work and perseverance. Friends may call at the Tobias Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Sunday, January 28, 2018, from 2-4 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 11 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Shoup Cemetery.
