John Dixon

DIXON, Barbara Edna (Day), 81 and John Richard Sr. 81 of Dayton, Ohio passed away June 30 and July 2, 2013. Barbara was born April 5, 1932, the 12th child of 15, graduated in 1950 from Stivers High School and retired from Moody Air Force Base after transferring from WPAFB. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ethel M. (Baltes) Day, father, Dennis M. Day, 7 brothers and 3 sisters. Barbara is survived by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. John was born June 19, 1932. He graduated from Stivers High School in 1950 and retired from Lowndes County Georgia where he was supervisor of Buildings and Grounds. John was preceded in death by his father, John F. Dixon, mother, Gladys E. (Bowles) Dixon, and a brother, Gene Dixon. He is survived by 1 sister, Nancy Duke & husband Gary. Together they are survived by 3 children; 2 sons, John R. Dixon Jr. & wife Vicki and Kenneth R. Dixon & wife Teri; a daughter, Rebecca L. Gordon & husband Charles; 6 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. John and Barbara were high school sweethearts and happily married for 61 years. The family will receive friends at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 5 to 7 pm followed by a funeral service at 7 pm. Rev.
