Jean Marie Taguiam, age 64, of Fairbanks, Alaska, formerly of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 23, 2024. She was preceded by her parents, Ariston and Felicitas(Camello) Taguiam. Jean is survived by her sisters Nancy Ryan and Stella Lanter; brother Anthony (Tamra) Taguiam; nieces and nephews Eric and Matthew (Tricia) Ryan, Alicia (Geoff) Byrne, Joshua (Amy) Taguiam, Eliot (Stephen) Kramer-Taguiam and Jacob (Gabrielle) Hites; great-nieces and nephews Nathan, Jordan, Madison, Arabella, Nora, Lillia, and Ariston; aunts Melania (Camello) Agustin, Sister Damasita Camello, numerous cousins and close friends.
Jean was a retired Anesthesiologist that practiced for 38 years in Fairbanks, Alaska and Denver, Colorado. She was involved with medical missionary work for numerous years. Jean traveled extensively around the world. She was passionate about golf, skiing, cycling, hiking, euchre, guitar and ukulele. Jean enjoyed cooking, grilling, and was a wine connoisseur. She loved animals especially her and other dogs. Jean was an Ohio State University alumni and avid Buckeyes football fan. She attended and graduated from St. Helen’s grade school, Carroll High School (Class of 1978), the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and Case Western Reserve for post graduate residency. Jean was a member of St Helen Catholic Church in Riverside, Ohio; a very devout Catholic.
Jean enjoyed her friends from all over and was very generous and kind to her nieces and nephews. She was a great daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, niece and friend. She provided for everyone. Always smiling, Jean was the light of her family. Jean never knew a stranger. She was so loved and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was the life of the party and always made sure everyone was having a good time. Jean was a consummate and caring hostess. She certainly lived life to the fullest and had a great sense of humor.
Her mantra was "It is what it is."
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Rd Riverside, OH. Fr. Satish Joseph celebrant. Interment to follow service at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Friday, March 15. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's honor to the Humane Society and Alzheimer’s Association.
