Janice Lee Connor

Born January 7, 1938, to the late Vincent and Leona Koester.

Jan was a graduate of Julienne High School and St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing. Jan’s career as a Registered Nurse spanned almost 50 years. The number of patients she loved and cared for, in Cleveland and Dayton, is countless and the wisdom she bestowed to her fellow colleagues was invaluable. She worked most recently with Pulmonary and Critical Care Consultants, in Dayton, where she retired in 2004.

Jan’s greatest love was her husband and family. She could always be found at her kids and grandkids sporting events, cheering them on and always expecting a WIN as she hated to lose. That fighting spirit was reflected in the way she lived her life, all the way to the end, surviving cancer and major surgeries in 1981, 2001 and 2018. Jan truly enjoyed reading, gardening, and the company of her lifelong friends from high school and nursing school. Her most treasured moments though were vacations with her family to Garden City, Florida, Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and Cedar Point. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Patrick Connor; five children, Kelley (Len) Bazelak, Pat (Mary Clark), Kevin (Kathy), Brian (Laura), and Tim; nine grandchildren, Maddie, Libby, Connor, Patrick, Mollie, Gavin, Evelyn, Mac and Drew; siblings, Gloria Parnell, and Vicki (Bob) Bruggeman; and brother-in-law Robert (Marge) Connor. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws Robert and Madeleine Connor, Sister-in-law Maureen Connor and Brother-in-law Jack Parnell.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers we are asking donations be made to Alter High School to help fund scholarships for kids.
