Janice married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Armstrong. They were married for 66 years.
She resided in Centerville/Washington Township for over 60 years. Jan graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. While at Roosevelt, she was a cheerleader, majorette and served as a class officer. She worked for Centerville Schools at Weller Elementary as a secretary for 25 years. Jan loved all animals, especially her cats Coco and Buddy. She enjoyed time spent in her pool and flower gardens. She and Tom loved boating at Norris Lake and Lake Cumberland. They spent several months each year at their second home in Naples, Florida where she enjoyed trips to the beach, pools and shopping. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband Tom, she is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Tamaska; five grandchildren, Terry (Lauren) Tamaska, Kristy (Josh) Betts, Brent (Sahar) Ullery, Sean Ullery, and Thomas Tamaska; eight great grandchildren, Kane, Kamden and Kenley Betts, Hayden and Hadley Tamaska, and Beckett, Scarlett and Jarrett Ullery; and by a sister, Patricia (George) Owens.
An informal visitation will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Avenue on Thursday, September 8th, 2022, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm followed by dinner at NCR Country Club in the Embers room, all are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Humane Society or to Hospice of Dayton.
