.Kozlowski,Janet Evelyn (Miller),age 69 of Beavercreek, Ohio, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 30 2016. Born in New Jersey to the late Joseph R. Miller and the late Helen C. Turner, Janet completed her high school diploma and then became a certified dental assistant. During high school, Janet met Edward Kozlowski, who became her doting and loving husband of 49 plus years. While Ed’s career moved them around a lot, Janet remained actively employed and engaged within their local communities; they spent time in Illinois, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Guam and Japan. After settling in Beavercreek, Ohio, their home for 35 years, Janet had a successful career with the Department of Defense. Upon retirement from civil service, she performed background investigations for the federal government. Janet loved dogs, particularly Golden Retrievers. She participated in dog rescue and supported dog related charities. Her interest in food and wine led her to become an active member of The Miami Valley Institute of Food and Spirits (MVIFS), a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading knowledge of fine and healthy dining. Janet passionately supported their “Farm to Table”, a project that helps children understand the value of fresh, locally produced food. Janet’s love of music and theatre also made her an active supporter of many of Dayton’s fine arts organizations. Janet is survived by her beloved husband, Ed; their puppy, Sunshine; her sister, Kathy Miller Martin and her husband, Robert, of Fogelsville, PA; her brother-in-law Thomas Kozlowski and his wife, Diane, of Brick, NJ; her brother-in-law Robert and his fiancé, Diane, of Point Pleasant, NJ; two nieces, Jenifer Gilio her husband, Marc; and Katherine Burd and her husband, Joseph; two nephews, Andrew Kozlowski and his wife, Christine, and Daniel Kozlowski and his fiancé, Kristen, as well as five great nephews and nieces Samuel, Nathaniel, Evan, Adam, and Maude. Janet’s kindness, caring, and sharp wit will be missed by a large extended family and many friends.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 6 August, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Tobias Funeral Home, 3070 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home prior to the service. Interment will follow at a later date.
