For many years she endured debilitating pain and recently with the help of Hospice of Dayton, conquered that pain. Early in her life, her father and mother taught her, her brother Glen and sister Margie to enjoy the outdoors. The family boated, ice skated and enjoyed picnics. This turned into her love of travel and gardening. She loved sweets, especially chocolate. She loved to dine out and could not pass up a good steak. Janet quickly made friends. To this day, she has many lifelong friends. She truly appreciated these remarkable ladies. After retiring, Janet spent many years volunteering at Miami Valley Hospital and Belmont United Methodist Church. Most of all, she loved her family and had a strong connection to extended family. Her daughters were by her side every day in the last several months of her life. She will be missed and remembered fondly for her kindness, humor, strength and resilience. May she rest in peace. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Belmont United Methodist Church, 2701 Smithville Road, Dayton 45420.
