Jane Irma Sawvel, 87, of New Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Born on June 2, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Irma Siegesmund. Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, William “Bill” Sawvel; her son, Thomas Sawvel; and her brother, Howard Siegesmund.
A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Jane enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including sewing, gardening, canning, baking Christmas cookies, and playing tennis. She shared her passion for sewing as a 4H Leader for many years and found joy in hosting bridge parties and spending time with friends.
Unwavering faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her life, giving her strength, peace, and purpose. She found great joy in reading her Bible and attending Ginghamsburg Church, where she cultivated many cherished friendships and served others with love and dedication.
Jane is survived by her children, John Sawvel and his wife, Deborah, and Katherine Crawford and her husband, Timothy; her grandchildren, Zachary Sawvel and Nathanael Sawvel; and her daughter-in-law, Tara Sawvel.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jane’s life on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Tobias funeral home Beavercreek Chapel with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Medway Cemetery.
