James R Keller Jr of Beavercreek passed away on December 12th at the age of 67. Jim was preceeded in death by his father James Keller Sr and his mother Cordella (Ballman) Keller. Jim is survived by his three sisters Lynn Triftshouser (Richard), Diana Keller, and Gayle Deflin as well as two brothers Larry Keller and Mike Keller (Cristy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Jim was born and raised in Beavercreek, graduating from Carroll High School in 1973. He loved to play sports and played basketball and golf while attending Carroll. He then attended Eastern Kentucky University where he graduated with a degree in Business.
Jim started his career at Citizen's Federal Bank in Dayton where he held several positions and later in his career moved to Kentucky and worked at Drees Homes. Jim was very active athletically throughout his career including playing softball, golfing, and bowling.
All of Jim's life he had an affinity for horse racing, first as a handicapper, where he competed nationally in horse racing handicapping events and later as a horse racing owner. Throughout his life he had owned a share of 22 racing horses, the last being Flashy King George over the last couple of years. Jim also enjoyed playing poker and a variety of other games of chance. He will be missed by friends and family.
A celebration of life visitation for James will be held Saturday, January 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Tobias Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45432.
