James Jim Edward Houtz

HOUTZ, James Edward, age 81, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 at his residence. Jim was raised in Brookville, Ohio. He was born April 20, 1933 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Albert G. and Ruth Houtz. He is the past president and owner of Dayton Appliance parts and also past president of Appliance Parts and Distributors Association. He was a member of the Far Hills Masonic Lodge #784 F&AM. He is preceded in death by his brother Albert “Buck” Houtz. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary(Minford)Houtz and their sons; Tim(Nancy) and ‘Bub’(Betty), grandchildren: Jen (Jeff)Houtz-Gillman, Brooke (Matt)Floyd, Erika Houtz(James Gregory), Stacy(Steve)Sams, and Christina Houtz, great-grandchildren: Eleanor, Elizabeth and Henry Gillman; Braelyn, MacKenzie and Grady Floyd, and Rylan Sams. Jim’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Hospice of Dayton for their kindness and compassionate care. Funeral service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 20, 2014 TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel, with Pastor Mark Patterson officiating.
