Jim is survived by his wife, Patrica, of 68 years. A true life romance. Six children, Joe Corbett, Pamela Corbett, Karen Eads, Michael Corbett, Joanne Vogel and Jerry Corbett, thirteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Joseph & Clara Corbett and sisters, Catherine Koester and Evelyn Corbett.
"The Champ” was a 1954 graduate from Chaminade High School. An avid golfer with a natural swing. A gifted athlete playing football under coach Fuzzy Foust, and a baseball and basketball player.
Jim worked in construction. A bricklayer, foreman, supervisor and estimator. He worked for Sutherly Construction, AMS, and Voyager Construction. There are many buildings, schools and hospitals in Ohio and Florida with Jim Corbett’s brick, block work, and straight joint lines.
We will remember Jim for his welcoming heart, big laugh, and generosity. He was a great story teller and jokester. A hard-working man who put his family first and set the standard for a great work ethic.
Jim blessed us with a lifetime of great memories and laughter.
Jim & Patty were the epitome of marriage. Truly living their wedding vows, “…for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part.”
Jim found so much joy in helping those that needed it. He cared deeply for his family and friends. Jim lived to honor God as a son, husband, father, and friend.
His positive impact will be felt far and wide. Jim will be greatly missed.
We love you – HCC!
