Jack E. Zimmerman

ZIMMERMAN, Jack E. of Dayton, OH passed away, Saturday, March 21, 2015. Jack was born, in Dayton, OH, February 3, 1928, to George E. (Babe) & Irene P. (Merkle) Zimmerman. He was a 1946 graduate of Chaminade High School, a 1950 graduate of the University of Dayton; Mechanical Engineering Degree, and a 1951 graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology; Master of Science in Mechanics. Jack retired from Martin Marietta, December 15, 1992. He was in the Chaminade Athletic Hall of Fame and the Dayton Amateur Golf Hall of Fame. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a brother, George Zimmerman. He is survived by his wife, of 58 years, Patricia A. (Kenney) Zimmerman, five children, Jack Zimmerman (Ronit), Michael Zimmerman (Barb), Anne (Zimmerman) Tobin (Toby), Mary (Zimmerman) Terwilleger (Ken), Julie (Zimmerman) Bruner (Eric) and 14 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, March 27, 2015 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Leonard’s Chapel, 8100 Clyo Rd. Reverend Gerald Haemmerle, officiating. Entombment, Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
