Garrett, Jack A., 81, of Beavercreek, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Trinity Community. He was preceded in death by his parents Ruth (Simms) and Russell Garrett. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Janice Garrett of Beavercreek; sons Jeff (Wendy) Garrett and Jim (Angela) Garrett; daughters Julie (Garrett) and Stephen Bentley, Jodeen Garrett, Jeannine (Garrett) and Rusty Duncan; 8 grandchildren, Heather (Bentley) Hicks, Adam Bentley, Andrew Bentley, Elise (Duncan) Robbins, Emily Duncan, Madeline Garrett, Evelyn Garrett, Braydon Garrett; 3 great grandchildren Julie Bentley, Stuart Hicks V, and Joshua Hicks. Jack was a member of the Beavercreek Optimist Club, the Kitty Hawk Ski Club and the Society of Electrical Engineers. A graduate of Wilbur Wright High School and the University of Purdue where he was a member of the Alumni Association of Purdue. He retired from W.P.A.F.B. after 32 years of Civil Service and also worked at Wright Labs now known as AFRL. He was the 2nd generation of four generations in his family to work at WPAFB. Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. Rev. Stephen Bentley officiating. Entombment Woodland Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10-11 AM Tuesday.
