Howard W. Bailey passed away Tues July 14, 2015. He was born August 25, 1929 in Ashland KY. Howard graduated from Ashland Senior High School in 1948. He began working for ARMCO Steel Corp in Middletown, Ohio where he met the love of his life and future wife Shirley Barr. They were married in 1955 for 57 years until Shirley’s death in 2012. Howard served in the Air Force Reserves before working for Frigidaire and NCR in the Engineering field. Howard was also a police officer, working for Beavercreek and Sugarcreek Townships while belonging to the FOP. He returned to General Motors in 1975 working as Supervisor for Plant Security and Fire Protection until retiring in 1990. In 1975 Howard continued his Masonic Journey with Alpha Lodge #729 and after retirement He became a Scottish Rite Mason and was an active member of the Antioch Shriners for many years. Howard served as Director of Hospital Transportation from 15 years from 1997 till 2012. He is survived by Son Mark E. Bailey (Debbie) of Dayton OH; Daughter Lori B. Conner (Skip) of Dayton OH. Three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren as well as several loving nieces and nephews. Howard was a kind and generous man who donated his time and locksmith talents to many. He will be greatly missed by those knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Reverend Rolland Marcus officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Interment will be in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery.
