Herman "Sandy" Santo

SANTO, Herman Stanley “Sandy”, age 89 passed away peacefully Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Crestview Manor. Sandy was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio to the late Herman T. and Julia (Daniels) Santo. He was a highly decorated tail gunner in the United States Army Air Corp and veteran of WWII who flew over the Pacific Theater in a B-17aircraft. He is preceded in death by his wife Elaine, their daughter Laura Baker and a brother Fred. Sandy is survived by his children: Sharon (Mike) Lawrence of Beavercreek, Ted (Barbara) Santo of Centerville, Debra(Jim)Knox of Dublin,OH., and Fred(Michelle)Santo of Bellbrook, grandchildren: Doug, Julie, Dave and Kimberly; Heath and Kendal; Brandon and Jason; Kate and Allie; Sara, Raychel, Emily and Grant, great-grandchildren: Siena, Kailyn, Natalie, Caleb, Grady, Logan and Sullivan, and his great-grand dog “Gracie”. Funeral service 11:00AM Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel with visitation one hour prior. Burial will follow at the Miami Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Sandy’s memory to Cross Roads Hospice 8069 Washington Village Dr. Dayton, OH 45458.
