Herbert Carl Schafer “Happy Herb”, age 82, passed away at his residence on Thursday, July 19th, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents; Herbert Sr. and Edith Schafer. Herb led an incredible life of service & dedication to his wife, Darlene; six children, Herbie, Mike, Todd, Vicki, Kim and Christine; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Andrew, Ashley, Alyssa, Ryan, Elizabeth, Michael and Emily and one great-grandchild, Felix. Herb will be missed but never forgotten as his tenacity, strength and loyalty will live on in all the lives he touched. Funeral service will be held at 6pm on Wed. July 25th, 2018 at Greenmont Oak Park Community Church, 1921 Woodman Drive, Dayton, OH 45420. Visitation will be from 4pm until 6pm at the church on Wed.
