Owens, Helen L., age 87, of Dayton and a longtime Beavercreek resident, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Lillie (Ward) Lambert. Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Ross Kelly Owens; her 5 children, Stephen and wife, Cheryl, of Drummond, Montana, Jeff and wife, Lucy, of Jamestown, Karen, of Avon Park, FL, Kevin and wife, Deborah, of Middletown, Chris and wife, Mary, of West Carrollton. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren , numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Helen was a school teacher with the Beavercreek Public School System from 1967 until her retirement in 1988 having taught at both E.G. Shaw and Fairbrook Elementary Schools. She was also a former Girl Scout Leader. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015, from the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road with Pastor Charles Wolfenbarger officiating. Interment will follow in Dayton National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015.
