I met Gordons daughter Lisa in college and the first time that I was invited to their home, Gordon could not have been any nicer to me. He was always friendly and handed out hugs. What a huge loss for this lovely family and all who loved him.

It is difficult for me to find the words to express my sorrow .  Gordon was someone from a modest background who achieved wonderful things.  All the while remembering he was a child of God reaching out to help others.  Well done good and faithful servant.


So sorry to hear of Gordy's passing.  He was one of the greatest men I ever worked for.  He was a great man and a great leader.  RIP

RIP Gordy! Gordon Meister was without a doubt the NCR Executive that I could relate to the most. His jovial, ethical, knowledgeable personality was infectious. I was part of the NCR Sales team in Garden Grove, CA and Gordy made several trips to our district and every one of them was inspirational for all of us representing the NCR Corporation. Gordy, you will be sorely missed and I will always appreciate the support you showed me over the years. My condolences to Mrs. Meister and Gordy's daughter and son, grand children. Gordy will never be forgotten!

    We are deeply saddened by the news of Gordie’s passing. We had just finalized our plans to get together for an NCR mini reunion in May.  He was always accommodating when it came to getting together with his fellow NCR people. His unique personality, his laugh and everything he did for his guys and gals will not be forgotten. Gordy was one  of the fairest and most efficient managers  I ever reported to.  His quarterly meetings were the most detailed I have ever experienced.   I learned much from him.  He will he missed.   RIP Gordy.  My condolences to  his family.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Gordon’s passing over the weekend.  A gifted leader and administrator Gordon was a significant mentor to me.  The older I got, the more I understood what a positive impact he had in my life and my career, and how the things he taught me would be remembered, and valued, for a lifetime.

Gordon always led by example and taught me that attention to detail and resiliency are key attributes to success.  Always mindful of the many lessons he taught me, I tried to emulate his many valuable insights and gifts Gordon freely shared as a mentor.

I only worked directly under Gordon four short years, but I learned so much in those few years under his leadership.  Gordon was always a man of action and one example of his life lessons imparted to me is summed up in the following question Gordon once asked Me in his own affable way; “there are two kinds of people in this world, doers and gonna doers, which kind do you want to be?”  

I have used that motivating question with my own employees and ironically my own children over the years and always fondly thought of Gordon whenever I used his quote.  

Gordon’s positive impact in my success is incalculable for which I am forever thankful.  My thoughts and prayers are with Myrlin and their children, Lisa and Matthew, whom he was always so proud of.  

When I reflect on Gordon’s passing, I am reminded of this passage from the Gospel of Matthew. 

“Well done, good and faithful servant!  You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share in your Master’s happiness.”

I so respected and loved Gordon. As his pastor for many of the years he was president at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, I loved and appreciated Gordon's leadership and His love for the Lord. He used to say that his gifts were leadership and administration and that he was not spiritual. I told him I totally disagreed with him, that he was so good at leadership and administration he would be dangerous if he were not spiritual. Gordon was dangerous, to anyone who would stand against the Lord and His Church. And how he could (and did) win over people who might have disagreed with the direction the church was heading with his huge and hearty laugh! I am proud to be able to call Gordon Meister my friend and my brother. I will keep Myrlin and the family in my prayers. Myrlin, Lisa, Matt, and all the rest of your family, may the Prince of Peace give you the peace that only He can give. May He hold you in His loving arms. 

We were very sorry to hear of Gordie's passing. His infectious laugh and warm smile will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace knowing he changed the lives of so many individuals. Please know you're in our thoughts and prayers, Myrlin.
