WILSON, Glenn H., age 93 of Centerville passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014. He was born on May 11, 1921. Glenn attended Red Bird Mission High School and was an outstanding short stop on the baseball team where he was scouted by the Cincinnati Reds when WWII intervened. He served on the battleship Nevada in the South Pacific. He was in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and was anchored near Japan when the Atomic Bomb was dropped. Upon his return from the Navy he married his sweetheart Ruth in North Dakota. They made their home in Dayton where he graduated from the University of Dayton. He worked in electrical engineering at WPABF from which he retired with 33 years of service. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and was never without his UK cap! Glenn was a charming gentleman with a great wit and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Ruth L. Hochhalter Wilson. He is survived by his daughters Karen (Glen) Young and Myrna (Michael) Dugan, and the joys of his life, grandchildren Chris Young and Katie (Jim) Muir, Jason (Brianna) Dugan and Kara Dugan.
