George R.Stout, age 81 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was born on September 22, 1933 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents Cleveland and Clara Stout, brothers Leslie, Russell, Reynold and Archie, sisters Lorena, Nellie, Mabel, Beulah and Dorothy. George served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Wagner Smith Industrial Electric after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Temple for 56 years and loved the Lord with all his heart. He was involved with the Dayton Amateur Baseball Commission, coaching for 35 years, and it was his passion. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Ruby Stout, sons Gregory (Jackie) Stout, Robert Stout, daughter Sherri (Geofrey) Cox, 6 grandchildren Kelli, Shannon, Erin, Bianca, Kyle and Shay, 6 great grandchildren Kayden, Kale, Ethan, Liam, Jaxon and MJ. He is also survived by his sister Charlotte Woodard of Portsmouth, Ohio. Visitation will be held Friday, October 24 from 11 -1, with the funeral immediately following at 1 pm. Services to be held at Cornerstone Baptist Temple, 1707 Ohmer Ave, Dayton Ohio 45410, with Pastor Jerry Siler officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
