George J. Brasher, age 77 of Beavercreek, passed away Friday, January 23, 2015 at his home following a long battle with COPD. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Brasher, a sister, Carol Geisel and his parents. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Loretta K. Brasher. Two daughters also survive him: Diane Tipton and husband Christopher of Huber Heights and Wanda Brasher of MI. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Greenwood of Cincinnati, grandson, Rodney Ritter of Huber Heights, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was born to George and Josephine Brasher in 1937 near Chicago, IL. He graduated from Chaminade High School in Dayton and was a member of the US Navy from 1955 until 1959. He was employed in the business office of St. Elizabeth Hospital as manager of the billing department for twenty years. George loved to do crossword puzzles and was an avid Cleveland Browns fan; he was also a member of VFW Post 2800. Inurnment will be held at David’s Cemetery on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 2 PM in the Community Mausoleum Chapel, 4600 Mad River Rd. Arrangements are in care of Tobias Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel. Contributions can be made in George’s memory to the American Lung Association.
