He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Nettie Bush, sister Brenda Mayse, and best friend Cleatus Sanders.
He is survived in death by his wife, Carla Bush, of 40 years, his twin brother Gary Bush, brother Forest Bush, and sister Sandy Webster; daughter Amanda and son-in-law George; grandchildren Wesley, Lillian, Evelyn, Adalyn, Hudson, Harrison, and Vivian; great-grand daughter Darla; and his nieces and nephews.
Originally from Connersville Indiana. He joined the United States Air Force around the age of 18, and was stationed in places including South Carolina and the Philippines. He was in an airplane leaving the Philippines with his wife and daughter when the 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo happened, making it out safely.
He had a rewarding 21-year career in the United States Air Force, eventually retiring with the rank of Technical Sergeant, and numerous awards and certificates. Following the Air Force, he had another 20-year career with the Montgomery County Engineers. Finally, he worked at the Second Street Market in Dayton, where he always brought home flowers and treats for his wife, daughter, and grand-children. Gale loved to stay busy, working with his hands on anything mechanical. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix.
He always said he was a Midwest boy, and enjoyed his truck, riding his motorcycle, looking at old cars, attending swap meets, playing cards with his grandchildren, and tinkering around in his garage.
Gale had a joyful spirit and never knew a stranger. He was very outgoing and would be the first one to help when needed. Gale loved his family fiercely and loved Jesus too. Over the years he grew in his relationship with Jesus and when he passed away there was no doubt the Jesus was there with the family waiting for his son.
Until we meet again we hold on to the fact that he is with our savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for being the best husband, brother, dad, papa, uncle and friend. He would say "I love you" and we would respond "love you more".
"He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalms 91:4
A burial for Gale will be held Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, OH 45428. A celebration of life service to be announced will occur.
