Eugene Vernon Boroff Jr.

At 6:44p on December 5, 2024 his heavenly Father welcomed him home with the biggest hug he's ever known and said to him, "Welcome Home my child."

Eugene is survived by children Melissa and Steven Boroff, who he loved more than anything in the world, and siblings Geraldine Brown, Michael Boroff and his loving, devoted sister and best friend Margie Ferguson all of Sidney, Ohio.

He attended Houston High School in Houston, Ohio and he worked at Copeland's Refrigeration in Sidney, Ohio until he became disabled. He loved sports and was a huge fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Eugene was born with autism, a condition that didn't have a diagnosis in those days, so with no explanation or understanding of some of his behavioral issues, life was truly a struggle with a lifetime of wrong diagnoses, medications and treatments. It was difficult for him to socialize and have friends and relationships due to the mental health issues that accompany autism, and I feel sad for those who didn't spend time with him to get to know the Eugene I know and love. He was the most kind hearted, loving, giving man that I know. Nursing home residents get an allowance of only $50 a month from their income to take care of their own needs, and I've seen Eugene on more than one occasion take money from his $50 and give it to other residents who needed help. That's who he was and the Eugene I know, love and will miss terribly.....my buddy.

He will be missed terribly, but at the same time his 'going Home' will be celebrated because he is now experiencing happiness...true happiness, joy and peace for the first time ever.

In honoring his wishes, his body will be cremated. No services are to be held. Arrangements are in the care of Tobias Funeral Home, 648 Watervliet, Dayton, Ohio. Condolences may be expressed to the family at our website.
