KINDLER, Elyse S., 84, of Centerville, OH, went home to be with the Lord on August 18, 2018. Born August 25th, 1933, she was raised in Bexley, Ohio to the late Margaret and John Schacht. A graduate of Bexley High School and The Ohio State University, she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and was “Queen” of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Elyse was a loving wife to Jack (62 years); mother to Karen Solarek and Kathie Torres; mother-in-law to Jeffrey Solarek and Henry Torres; grandmother to Henry, Jr and Angelica Torres and Tom Solarek; and sister to John Schacht. Her primary focus in life was to please her family and be a rock of support to friends. Always available with a listening ear or to be a cheerleader at important events, Elyse’s love was sacrificial and unwavering. She was a devoted wife and mother and a true and loyal friend. Her trademark was always a “big hug” before parting company. Elyse showed her family how to love God and their fellow man; never to take themselves too seriously; to bring love and humor to every situation; and always to be the best that you can be. She leaves her loved ones knowing she has prepared our path to eternity with God, just as she prepared our paths while in this world. We miss her already but know we will be with her again in a better place. Elyse would never leave without a final “OH – IO”, “GO BUCKS”. Services to celebrate her life will be held this Saturday, 8/25 at 11:00 am at Normandy United Methodist Church. A 10:00 am greeting reception will precede the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W. Alex-Bell Rd. Dayton, OH 45459 or a charity of choice. Online condolences may be sent to www.tobiasfuneralhome.com.
