Elsie graduated from Ironton High School in 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, Ron Justice on August 2, 1952. They started their journey together in Kankakee, Illinois where Ron attended Olivet Nazarene University to prepare for the ministry and Elsie studied Christian Literature, took piano lessons and made a home for them.
She was instrumental in her husband’s ministry. She taught Sunday School, directed Bible Schools, worked as the church secretary, and sang special songs. She went with Ron to visit parishioners in their homes and in hospitals.
Along with raising their five children, Elsie enjoyed gardening, listening to Southern Gospel music, reading her bible, playing games with her children, and entertaining her family and friends at gatherings and holidays. Elsie was a very social person who thrived on being around other people. She was a loyal friend and thoroughly enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Elsie is survived by her five children. Rick Justice (Kelly) of South Charleston, WV, Jim Justice (Brenda) of Beavercreek, OH, Cindy Ware (Melvin) of Parkersburg, WV, Sherri Allen (JD) of Brownsville, IN, Tim Justice (Lacy) of Wentzville, MO, eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one sister, Marilyn Steorts of Ironton, OH.
In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her loving husband Ron, four sisters, two brothers, and a granddaughter.
A celebration of life service will be held at Tobias Funeral Home – Far Hills Chapel, 5741 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429 on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00am with Dr. Bob Mahaffey officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00am. Interment will be at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn, OH. Tobias Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
