Elenora "Helen" Jones

JONES, Elenora “Helen” M., age 97 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2015. She was born January 29, 1918 and was 1 of 7 children born to the late Vito and Angelina Leogrande of Newark, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Carl Vern Jones, daughter Judith Miller McCann, and great-grandson Dustin Fitzgerald. She is survived by her son and daughter in-law David C. and Cheryl Jones, grandchildren Lisa (Kevin) Thayer, Steve (Debby) Miller, Melody (Mike) Fitzgerald and Amy Jones, great-grandchildren Brandon (Richard Turner) Fitzgerald, Shannon Fitzgerald, Marissa Thayer, Austin Thayer, Sarah Miller and Samantha Miller, brother Victor Leogrande and son-in-law Tom McCann. Helen and her husband built their original home in Beavercreek in 1954 where they owned the original Central Hardware on Central Dr. for 8 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to be with her family, play cards and shop. The family would like to extend special thanks to Oakcreek Terrace Nursing & Rehab Center and Crossroads Hospice for their care and support. Funeral services will be held at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 10:00 am with interment to follow in Mt. Zion Park Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6pm – 8pm on Wednesday, April 8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
