Edith G Bryant

Edith G. Bryant passed away at the age of 98 on Sunday morning August 14, 2016, at Cypress Pointe Health Care Campus. She was born in Lost Creek, KY on December 5, 1917 to the late John and Elizabeth Francis. Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William H. Bryant in 1991; daughter, Shirley; son, Tom; sister, Mattie Fickert; and brothers, Farmer and Dan Francis. Edith is survived by daughter, Stella (George) Stephens; sons, Mike and John (Sharon) Bryant; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She worked at Forest Linen Supply and assisted her husband as owner of Bryant’s Bakery and later as a Sunbeam Bread distributor in Dayton. Edith was the treasurer of Calvary Baptist Church for over 31 years and a current member of North Dayton Baptist Church. She volunteered for the Boy Scouts, McGuffey School PTA, and Northeast Dayton Food Pantry. A funeral service will be held on Thursday August 18, 2016 at 11:30 AM at Tobias Funeral Home Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave, Dayton, with Pastor James Williford officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 17, 2016 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to North Dayton Baptist Church 515 Lillian Dr. Dayton, Ohio 45404.
