Dorothy J. Powell

Powell, Dorothy J., age 90, a long time resident of Dayton passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016. She was born March 5, 1926 in Dayton, OH and moved to Florida in 1982 returning to Dayton in 2014. Dorothy was a 31 year member of the Belmont Church of Christ and had retired as a beautician. Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Lawrence H. Powell in 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved children, Connie Hampton and husband, Wayne of Beavercreek, Steven Powell and wife, Keyna, of Cape Coral; her grandchildren, Ami and husband, Mike Gutwein, Joe and wife, Christine Hampton, Sean and wife, Danielle Powell and Ashley Powell; her great grandchildren, Allison, Jake, Connor, Carson, Seth and Ethan. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Valley View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. Tom Marcum, Minister will be officiating . Entombment will follow in Valley View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
